Artist Statement.
My art takes on a story-telling approach inspired from personal experiences from childhood to my current self. Some of my sculptures can take on a surrealistic style, by recreating my dreams, nightmares, and memories. I take inspiration from personal experience and a troubled childhood to create a sense of relatability. In my sculptures, an innocent object turns sinister. They have a sense of melancholy, abandonment, and disarray. These feelings are especially portrayed in my dioramas, representing a place that can never be returned to. Many of my pieces have an open-ended narrative, leaving the viewer to wonder what happened or what is yet to come.
